Overview

The Lemosho Route via Northern Circuit is one of the newest and most scenic routes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. This route offers diverse landscapes and vegetation, spectacular views from all sides of the mountain, and takes you to the quiet and largely untouched northern slopes. The extended duration of the trek gives you ample time to acclimatize, significantly increasing your chances of a successful summit.

Day 1

Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha

Upon your landing at Kilimanjaro Airport, our transfer driver will warmly welcome you and transport you to the hotel in Arusha. The remainder of the day is yours to savor at your leisure—unwind by the hotel pool or venture into the town of Arusha via taxi for exploration. Later in the afternoon, you will be introduced to a member of our Kilimanjaro team who will provide a comprehensive briefing on your upcoming trek. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be arranged at Mount Meru Hotel or Tulia Hotel.

Day 2

Arusha to Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

  • Drive: After breakfast, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration.
  • Hike: Start your trek through the rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp.
  • Elevation: 2,360m to 2,895m
  • Distance: 7 km
  • Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
  • Habitat: Rainforest

Day 3

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

  • Elevation: 4,800m to 5,895m (summit) then down to 3,100m
  • Distance: 14 km (ascent) + 13 km (descent)
  • Hiking Time: 10-15 hours total
